WILLOW

Willow are a top class flute and harp ensemble, who trained together at the Royal Academy of Music. Now, their busy freelance careers include, classical recitals, performing on 5* cruise liners and working alongside leading artists of today. Their recitals are planned not only to give the highest standards of musical excellence, but also to share their fresh approach to communicating with the audience. Their concerts have been held in venues such as: St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Farnham Castle and Killaloe Cathedral in County Clare, Ireland. Invitations to do returning recitals are testament to their success in the concert hall. They have also performed on Fred Olsen cruise liners around Europe and Africa. Camilla and Eliza also play in The Korros Ensemble a beautiful yet unusual combination of flute , clarinet (Nicholas Elllis) and harp. The group was formed with a strong vision of introducing something new and exciting to the chamber music world. As there was very little existing music written for this line up, so these energetic three arranged some of their favourite works and work closely with a number of composers. Pieces have been composed especially for them by Nathan Rose, (BBC Young Composer of the Year ), Richard Peat and Seanine Joyce. Their collaboration with the Ballet Rambert resulted in another three commissions by Philip Venables, Naomi Pinnock and Patrick Nunn. Recent endeavours have included a performance of Debussy’s Sonata for Channel 4. 2003 saw them embarking on a nation-wide series of educational workshops and concerts for young people. This extended to several recital tours of Camphill Communities throughout England and Scotland. .
